Be Like Michelangelo!
Get lots of stuff, like old neck ties, long strips of fabric, a garbage bag cut into strips (you get the idea, anything strippy). Go find a fence and let the children weave in and out through the holes.
Cut the legs off of a pair of panty hose (clean ones!) and fill the foot part up with dried beans, I used lima beans. Tie a knot just above the beans. Put big paper on the floor, dip the bean part in paint and bounce it on the paper. It is messy and goes everywhere--but it is a blast!
This one is a bit more challenging. Get some big paper, tape it to the ceiling. Get some helium balloons. Dip the top of the balloons in paint. Children hold on to the string and paint the ceiling with the balloons. Caution using balloons, of course.
Get some big paper--again--and tape it to the floor. Find some toddler size riding toys. Dip the wheels of the toy in a pan of paint. Then let the children ride on the toy across the paper. Yeah, yeah, I know it's messy. Live a little, already!
Get several roll of crepe paper streamers (or you can use yarn) and have the children weave in and around everything in the classroom. Then crawl around like spiders.
Use tape to attach a long paintbrush to a helmet. Dip brush in paint and children paint with their head.
Let the children fingerpaint on the wall with shaving cream tinted with a little paint.
Line a big coffee can with paper. Put some stones or marbles that have been dipped in paint into the can. Put the lid on. Divide the children up into two groups, one group on each end of the room and roll the can back and forth to eachother.
Tape some big paper on the underside of a table. Let the children lie on their backs on the floor under the table and draw with markers.
